Good News, Bad News

Well fellas as we all know I missed the oval at Thompson due to some severe computer issues. Good news is with the help of the VSRA community I got it back up and running better than ever. Wanna say thanks to : Joe Andersen, Andrew Wheeler, James Johnson, and Brian Lykins for all there support. Without you guys who knows what state my machine would be in right now.

Unfortunately I will also miss this weeks event as well. I am taking a must needed vacation and will be leaving Thursday morning and wont be returning til Monday.. Good luck on the track fellas and I hope to see you all when I get back the following week.

More bad news.... I got home from vacation last night. I tooled around on the pc. Checking up on things and what not. Then all of a sudden once again the damn thing just shut down. It would start up then shut down over and over again. I immediately cut power. Experiencing what I went through the last time I took the damn thing apart again. With the motherboard removed from case sitting on cardboard it turns on and all the lights and fans kick on , but no screen. I tried the new graphics card and the old one. I am getting nothing. I dont think the damn things is booting at all. I get no lights on the keyboard. Nothing!!

Needless to say I may be out again this week as I will be doing more research and more hopeful repairs on my machine.

That sucks Scotty !! I hope you can find out what is going on with that thing. It can get so frustrating trying to find the problem sometimes.

Do you have onboard video? Try that. Also,...check your BIOS settings to make sure the display is set for the PCI-E or PEG input, sometimes that can create problems & prevent video from displaying.

We should chat about it in TS when you have time.

How's he going to check the BIOS if he's not getting any video, assuming the onboard video (if he has it) doesn't work?

Maybe he never tried just running on-board video, assuming it was there.

Can also try a PCI graphics card.... yes I still have a couple old dusty ones laying around

What about the Power supply or CPU, are any of them scorching when it shuts down?

Unfortunately there is no onboard vga card...

I am dropping it off at the repair shop. I have had enough I can handle without throwing it out the window. Hopefully Ill get good news.
