I've been thinking about future seasons of the VSRA and I came up with a couple of ideas to not only keep it interesting, but to cater to all types of racers within the club.

Future Season Ideas Vsra_s10

The NASCAR Oval option will cost the members more to buy the tracks and the cars, but it would quench the wants of us who are more oval racers than road racers.

The ROAD option is for those of us who enjoy GT and OW racing. Some people would rather have the Dallara Indycar in the mix, but I think the Star Mazda and the Riley DP most of us already own. You will also notice that ALL of the tracks are free tracks.

Like I said - these are just ideas. I know that some of you despise ovals. Some of us aren't fond of road racing. This would be a good way to satisfy everyone, or at least try to.

Let me know what y'all think.

I think they're great ideas! In my opinion, I think we also need to continue building the foundation of a higher population so we have a solid number of folks that want to participate in said races/seasons. I invite peeps to the website here in every race/ practice I'm in.., hopefully a few stroll on by once in awhile lol

I will racing anything Smile

Those are good ideas. But I agree with rippy a little, that we need to build our member base before we can do side series' that would be fun.. A lot of guys/girls have limited availability and struggle to make just one race a week.. So maybe schedule is more key, but without members there is no schedule.

To get new members we should only make our races private.. IMO
That way we have more exposure to public.. I will re-post this particular idea somewhere else if anyone supports this idea for growth

Honestly I think the majority of the guys here are road course guys, at least that's how it seems to me. I think at some point once we have enough members with enough interest that we should run an oval series simultaneously with our road series (not on the same dates obviously so that those that are interested can participate in both if they would like to). Each series would be completely independent and have no bearing on your outcome in the other.

Everyone here has a good point that more recruitment must happen to facilitate multiple series. It seems like we have a good majority of guys interested in a road course series but not enough interested in running a dedicated oval series so maybe we should start looking into recruiting guys who primarily run ovals as well and start planning an oval series for next season to entice them to join and participate? We need to get a head count of those within VSRA that would be interested in running a dedicated oval series next season and then get a plan together with these individuals for the layout of the oval series for next season. Get the plan posted up in it's own sub forum and get everyone involved that is participating to help recruit individuals to run in that series once you have a plan up and a general idea laid out.
